I Have Failed!

On October 31st, I had a folder full of notes, research and outlines that was to become my NaNoWriMo novel. (It was a cool, slashy murder mystery set in the Manhattan of the 1850's.) You know the deal--write a 50,000 word novel over the course of a month and leave off the editing. But it didn't happen. I have failed.

For the record, I have never once completed NaNoWriMo. But this was probably my most conspicuous failure: I wrote, I think, about 300 words of the novel. Sigh.

But I will not despair. I still have that folder full of notes, research and outlines. It may yet turn into a novel...just wait till next year!

NaNoWriMo Is Coming!

Arrrgh--NaNoWrimo madness is going to begin on November 1st. Yup, it's National Novel Writing Month time. That's when you somehow write a 50,000 word story over the course of one month.

Confession: I've never actually completed NaNoWriMo. But...that's ok. The month of writing with wild abandon has always given me great story ideas.

But, somehow, between now and November 1st, I have to finish up a bunch of fanfics so I can start writing a new story with a clear conscience. Yeesh...if only I didn't have to work for a living. It would be much easier to write without all those hours going to my job =P
