They’re bickering again. God, I’d love to tan their hides—but, alas, this isn’t an 18th century frigate. Starfleet won’t give a captain that kind of authority. So I roll my eyes instead and shake my head at the pair of them.
Someday they’ll figure out that they fight like an old married couple. Someday they’ll hear the affection behind all the insults. Someday Bones will admit that he likes those pointed ears. And someday Spock will own that he needs the good doctor to challenge his logic.
And someday they’ll realize that they were made for each other.
Someday.

I had the song "The Way You Look Tonight" playing in my head the minute I read the title. It was a perfect backdrop for the story.

This was so cute! I love the way Kirk is thinking, 'Oh, they SO want each other!" and is slightly annoyed at their bickering.
