Caroline followed the man out of the agora and onto the city blocks. They wove their way through a number of leather-working shops and tent-makers until they reached the building where he kept rooms. Tools and animal hides were strewn about his workspace. A small desk stood in the corner, covered with sheets of papyrus. She strained her eyes but could not make out the writing from where she stood. Bookkeeping, perhaps?
